Dr. Min Zaw Aye, a medical superintendent of Bhamo General Hospital, Kachin State, passed away on 1 May 2021. The 48 years old Dr. Min was a former student of Mandalay Medical University and one of the most valuable to the Medical Industry. As losing a friend makes us uncomfortable always, we feel sorry for him too.
Dr. Min was staying with his family in his hometown, Myitkyina, Kachin State, while he involves in civil disobedience movement. Three or four days prior to his death, a group of military people came to his house and pressured him to return work, as well as to force his doctors, nurses and other medical staff to do the same. However, he never pressured his people to do so.
In addition to his underlying diseases — diabetes, hypertension, and chronic low back pain, we believe that the pressure from the junta makes him worse. He might have been received a sudden heart-attack, said a physician close to him.
Even though we are all aware that grief, anxiety, fear, frustration and loneliness are to be suffered for human beings in lifetime, it is still hard for us to handle those feelings.
We wish Dr. Min rest in peace and power. “You will always be thanked for standing with us in this revolution!”
